Getting Started with Alfred: Logging In and Uploading Your First List

Email marketing remains a powerful tool for businesses to reach their target audience effectively. However, maintaining a clean and healthy email list needs to be on top of your priorities, if you’re planning successful campaigns and maximizing your return on investment.

In this step-by-step tutorial, we will guide you through the process of getting started with Alfred, from logging in to uploading your first list and initiating the hygiene process.

Logging In and Accessing Your Dashboard

To begin using Alfred, open your favorite web browser and visit alfred.email. Once on the website, click on the “Login” button. A login form will appear, prompting you to enter your email address and password. After entering your credentials, click on “Sign In” to access your Alfred account.

If you have forgotten your password, no worries! Simply click on the “Forgot your password?” link to initiate the password reset process. 

Upon successful login, you will be directed to your dashboard. As a new user, your recent activity section may appear empty. However, as you explore Alfred’s features, your dashboard will soon be filled with valuable insights.

Checking Available Credits and Buying More

On the right-hand side of your dashboard, you will find the “Available Credits” section. Each credit corresponds to one email contact validation. It’s important to keep track of your available credits to ensure uninterrupted usage of Alfred’s services. If you require more credits, simply click on the “Buy More” button. Remember, the more you buy the cheaper it gets.

Uploading Your First List

Now that you are familiar with the basics, let’s upload your first email list for cleaning. In the “List Health Check” section of your dashboard, click on the “Upload List” button.

A pop-up to upload your list will appear, offering two methods for file upload. You can either drag and drop your file onto the grey box or click on the grey box and select the file from your finder. Make sure the file you upload is in CSV format, with all email addresses listed in a single column.

Once you have successfully uploaded your list, the title of the file will appear within the grey box. Click on the “Submit” button to proceed.

Confirmation and Evaluation

After clicking “Submit,” you will be directed to the next page, which is your dashboard. In the top right corner, you will see a message indicating the successful completion of the file upload process. It should display a message that says “Success, file upload has successfully completed!”

While your file is being uploaded, Alfred will evaluate the list to determine if it requires cleaning or “hygiening” before use. The evaluation process duration depends on the size of your list and can range from seconds to minutes. Once the evaluation is complete, the status will change to “evaluation completed,” and Alfred will provide a recommendation whether the list needs to be cleaned or not.

Initiating List Hygiene

If Alfred recommends cleaning your list, simply click on the “Hygiene list” button. A pop-up window will appear, asking for confirmation and indicating the number of credits required for the process. If you agree to proceed, click on “Confirm.” However, if you prefer to perform the hygiene process later or have changed your mind, click “Cancel.”

Upon confirming, the next pop-up window will give you instructions and inform you that Alfred is working hard to process your list. You will receive an email notification once the hygiene process is complete. In the meantime, you can navigate to other sections of your dashboard and explore Alfred.

Remember, the duration of the hygiene process depends on the number of email addresses in your list. Larger lists may require more time to complete the cleaning process.
